Bryson DeChambeau clinched his second US Open Major win at Pinehurst 2 after beating Rory McIlroy in a close encounter. The 30-year-old LIV Golfer held his nerve in the final hole to win the second major of his career.

Paige Spiranac took to X and slammed Golf reporter Brandel Chamblee for downplaying the LIV superstar's victory.

Paige wrote:

"Brandel saying “good fortune” is why Bryson won the US Open is wild. Doesn’t even try to hide his hatred for him. Smh"

Chamblee has been pretty vocal about his dislike towards LIV Golf and its participants. He has previously attacked a lot of LIV golfers publicly, with Anthony Kim being the most recent example.

On the other side of the coin, Rory McIlory's winless streak at the Majors extends even further. The World No. 3 last won a Major tournament at the 2014 PGA Championship 3,598 days ago.

The competition between McIlroy and DeChambeau was intense throughout. Bryson played second fiddle to McIlroy for much of the final day.

However, DeChambeau kept his nerve and scored a brilliant shot on the final hole to win his first Major since joining LIV Golf.

2024 US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau dedicates his Major win to his late father

Two-time US Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau remembered his late father in his victory speech at Pinehurst. The United States golfer dedicated his euphoric win to his late dad on Father's Day, who passed away a couple of years ago.

Bryson said in his victory speech presentation:

“Unfortunately my Dad passed away a couple years ago. This one was for him”

Bryson added about the showdown between him and Rory McIlroy going down to the wire and said:

"He slipped up on a couple coming in and I just kept staying the course. I got out of trouble really well."

Bryson DeChambeau also pocketed a record $4.3 million prize money with his win at Pinehurst 2. He's been one of the most consistent performers in Majors this season after finishing T5 at Augusta, T2 in the PGA Championship, and now as a winner in the US Open.

Bryson DeChambeau became the second LIV golfer to win a major, after Brooks Koepka's PGA Championship triumph in 2023. He will be looking to finish off the year in style in the final Major of the year.
