After the conclusion of the LIV Golf 2024 season, Dustin Johnson recently went on a fishing trip with the Florida Panthers, the reigning Stanley Cup winners. His father-in-law Wayne Gretzky and sons Tatum Gretzky and River Jones also joined him.
In the first picture posted by Dustin Johnson, the golfer and members of the Florida Panthers can be seen posing on the deck of a yacht with the Stanley Cup placed at the center of the picture, on the table. The yacht has fishing rods and gear.
He captioned the post:
"Great day fishing with the reigning champs @flapanthers"
Johnson was dressed in a light-coloured shirt and shorts with a cap on and sat next to his two young sons, while Gretzky sat beside him. The Panthers team members were dressed casually in shorts, T-shirts, and caps.
In the second picture, Dustin Johnson can be seen on the back deck of the yacht with his father-in-law Wayne Gretzky, and Johnson's two young sons as they posed with the iconic Stanley Cup.
Wayne Gretzky's wife Janet commented on the Instagram post and wrote:
"Love this epic day !!! All around Champs"
LIV Golfer's wife Paulina Gretzky and daughter of Wayne and Janet shared the pictures from the trip on her Instagram Story. She also posted a video of the group preparing for the fishing trip.
Glimpses from Paulina Gretzky's story can be seen below:
Florida Panthers won the NHL with a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers in June 2024. Wayne played for the Oilers from 1979 to 1988. He then went on to play for the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers. He is dubbed as one of the best ice hockey players and also nicknamed 'the Great One.'
Dustin Johnson's fishing trip also supported the Promise Fund NPO. In the pictures above, the yacht displayed the "Promise Fund" banner. Promise Fund NPO also shared pictures from the fishing event on Instagram and captioned the post:
"Greatness met a great cause today! Huge thanks to @dustinjohnsongolf, @paulinagretzky, Stanley Cup Champions the @flapanthers, and @waynegretzky for joining us in support of the Promise Fund. Together, we’re reeling in hope for breast and cervical cancer early detection screenings and saving lives!"
Promise Fund of Florida works to lower the rates of breast and cervical cancer through early detection.
