Dustin Johnson recently revealed his pet peeve with fellow LIV golfer Phil Mickelson in a video with influencer Grant Horvat. The pro golfer was taking on the 2v2 challenge along with Horvat against Mickelson and Austin Johnson. The video was posted on Horvat's official YouTube channel, where he currently holds about 1.02 million subscribers.
In the video, the influencer could be seen teaming up with the captain of the 4Aces Golf Club. Horvat was pranked by Mickelson, as the latter lent his range measuring tool to the influencer. Distance is usually measured in yards in golf, where one yard approximately equals 0.9144 meters. He was talking about Mickelson while engaging in a casual conversation with Johnson. He said:
"... he had no problem, he was right on it. I never thought about that, I was like, dude he's so nice, he is bringing me a range finder. It's all a front. It's all a front," he said (4:50 onwards)
Dustin Johnson laughed and responded by revealing a fact that reportedly annoys him about his fellow LIV player. Johnson explained the behavior of Mickelson as noticed by him:
"Especially if you’re playing a match against him, if he's being nice to you, something is wrong. Something is wrong, for sure."
Before this full segment came out, Horvat shared a short reel on his Instagram profile, where Mickelson was talking about Dustin Johnson. Phil Mickelson's hilarious comment on Johnson drew attention from the fans before the full video was posted.
Horvat: "How are you going to get in this guy’s head?"
Mickelson: “Grant, I’ve been there. I’ve looked around. There’s nothing there."
Just after Mickelson finished speaking, the camera immediately panned to show Dustin. This 16-second-long clip from the 2v2 challenge video was a hilarious addition to the battle between Dustin Johnson and his fellow LIV Golfer.
The two-time LIV Golf Champion teamed up with Justin Horvat in a challenge that came out on January 27. The collaboration featured Mickelson sporting his HyFlyers GC uniform, which is sponsored by Primo for the 2025 LIV Golf season.
