Golf Channel analyst and commentator Brandel Chamblee recently revealed his election day routine. The 62-year-old shared that his routine involved turning on every TV in the house to remain updated.
Chamblee also shared that he had prepared a pot of chili. Chamblee is married to Bailey Mosier and shared how his wife was feeling patriotic about the day. He took to X and wrote:
"I made a pot of chili (@3Pecan recipe) Election Day ( just the 60th time in US history) every tv is on in the house and @Bailey_Chamblee is feeling very patriotic :) … watching some friends debate the issues and the election as this night unfolds."
Donald Trump claimed victory in the 2024 US Presidential elections. In his victory speech, he called LIV Golfer Bryson DeChambeau on the stage. He said:
"We have up here today the U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, fantastic. Obviously, he hits the ball slightly longer than me! Just a little bit. Bryson DeChambeau is up here. Where is he? What happened to Bryson? Bryson! He’s hitting balls?... He’s on the way? Bryson. Oh, look at him. He’s got a great carer going. Great U.S. Open, Bryson.
DeChambeau won the 2024 U.S. Open and his second Major title this year. He won the tournament by one stroke over World No. 3 Rory McIlroy.
Brandel Chamblee takes a jibe on low LIV Golf ratings
Brandel Chamblee recently took a shot at LIV Golf ratings. He took to X and quoted SBJ's Josh Carpenter's viewership figures from LIV Golf Chicago. He wrote:
"Despite billions of dollars for golf megastars, LIV remains in the witness protection program of sports viewership. Partly because they are trying to “scale” the county-fair motleyness of the 16th hole at the WM Phoenix Open and the Seve-like passion of the RyderCup, they fail, not least for the lack of innovation of their ideas but also for the origin of their investment."
The concept of LIV Golf came in 2020 when a rival league, Premier Golf League was proposed. Initially, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods were approached. Irish Golfer McIlroy opposed the league.
In 2022, LIV Golf announced a tournament schedule and big players like Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson were linked to it. Several top players on the OWGR rankings joined the rival league and continue playing in it.
LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman has responded to Brandel Chamblee's statement of low LIV Golf ratings. During the LIV Golf Team Championship in Dallas, He said, via FlushingIt Golf:
“No matter where we’ve gone in the world, we’ve seen our audience space go up. We’re in 450 million households every year, in 190 different countries. So think where we were thirty five events ago, to where we are today, thirty five weeks into it."
"We've shown to the people, the world, and to the golf ecosystem that we are truly additive to it. And that was important for all of us to get through what went through for a couple of years," he added.
LIV Golf and PGA Tour announced their merger in June 2023. Talks are going on, however, there has been no update yet. Recently, Donald Trump said that if he is elected to the White House he'll do the PGA Tour and LIV Golf deal in 15 minutes.
