Ex-President Barack Obama's old tweet resurfaces as he meets 'fellow Hawaiian' Allisen Corpuz ahead of the Solheim Cup

Hawaiian LPGA golfer Allisen Corpuz will play at the Solheim Cup, which starts on Friday, September 13, and continues till Sunday, September 15, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. This is Corpuz's second appearance at the event after 2023, and she will be representing the USA.

Before the tournament began, former US President Barack Obama, also a Hawaiian, met Corpuz. Incidentally, both Corpuz and Obama studied at the Punahou School.

The LPGA’s X page shared a picture of Obama greeting Corpuz with the caption:

“Just a couple of Punahou School alums.”

Along with the tweet, LPGA also tagged Obama's last post about "fellow Hawaiian" Allisen Corpuz when she won the 2023 US Open. Obama wrote in that post:

“Congratulations to fellow Hawaiian Allisen Corpuz for winning the U.S. Women’s Open! You make us all proud — and look forward to a round at Kapolei!”

Allisen Corpuz is making her second appearance at the 2024 Solheim Cup. In her last appearance in 2023, she had a record of 2-1-1 with 2.5 points won.

The US Team boast a star-studded lineup. Alongside Corpuz, the team have Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, Lauren Coughlin, Ally Ewing, Megan Khang, Andrea Lee, Rose Zhang, Alison Lee, Jennifer Kupcho, Sarah Schmelzel, and Lexi Thompson.
