The field for the Olympics men's stroke play event is full of top-flight golfers. At any given point, one of the best in the entire world will be teeing it up with a few other great golfers. The golf in Paris will begin on Thursday, August 1. From that point on, viewers can expect plenty of incredible action featuring the best that the PGA Tour, LIV Golf, and DP World Tour have to offer.
The first featured group is as star-studded as it gets, with Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Ludvig Aberg teeing off at 10:11 pm local time in Paris. Each of them could easily win the gold medal.
At 11:55 a.m., another incredible group will take to the greens: Xander Schauffele, fresh off his second Major win at the Open Championship, will be joined by Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm.
At 12:06 p.m., Matthieu Pavon, Collin Morikawa, and Matt Fitzpatrick will tee off. These are the three most notable groupings, so much so that the Olympic Golf account on X (formerly twitter) has highlighted them for all to see.
Other groups include:
- Thorbjorn Oleson, Joaquin Niemann, Alejandro Tosti
- Wyndham Clark, Hideki Matsuyama, Tommy Fleetwood
- Sepp Straka, Jason Day, Tom Kim
- Byeong Hun An, Shane Lowry, Nick Taylor
- Stephan Jaeger, Nicolai Højgaard, Thomas Detry
It promises to be a tough competition to as golfers attempt to be the one who emerges from the field and take home the gold medal.
