Former LPGA star Michelle Wie recently praised the Oregon firefighters for their support in battling the Los Angeles wildfire. She took to Instagram to thank the heroes for their bravery amidst the crisis.
On Friday, January 10, The Oregonian reported that 12 teams of firefighters were sent to Southern California to tackle the wildfires.
"The Oregon State Fire Marshal received a request for aid on Tuesday night, the same day the fires started, and announced on Wednesday that the state is sending 240 firefighters and 60 fire engines," the report read.
Michelle Wie West reposted the news and thanked the Oregonian firefighters for their aid.
"Thank you Nick and all the Oregonian firefighters coming to help, stay safe everyone," she wrote.
She also made a few more posts to share information about restaurants and charities providing help during the wildfire.

Michelle Wie West also reposted Los Angeles Golf Club's announcement to host a watch party for their first TGL match. They will play their first match of the season on Tuesday, January 14, against Jupiter Links GC. The team announced that they would be hosting a watch party and that the money collected from ticket sales would go to the wildfire victims.
Besides, the former US Open winner also shared the Las Vegas Aces' donation drive announcement. The donation drive will take place on Sunday, January 12, from 12-5 pm ET at Aces HQ. The requested donations include bottled water, non-perishable food/snacks, toiletries, diapers, baby formula, hand sanitizer, pet food, N95 masks, new blankets, air purifiers, and first aid kits.
So far, 11 people have lost their lives due to the wildfires, and over 153,000 people have been forced to evacuate. Nearly 166,000 people are under warnings and may have to evacuate in the future. Around 40,000 acres of property have been destroyed.
