Former No. 1 amateur joins LIV Golf as reserve following impressive Promotions event outing 

Former World No. 1 Ollie Schniederjans joined the Saudi-backed LIV Golf for the upcoming 2025 season after his impressive finish at the LIV Golf Promotions event. The American player participated in the last month's Promotion event and finished in fourth place.

The Saudi league is preparing to start its fourth season next month, and they have been completing their roster for the season. Following the 2024 season of the series, only the players finishing in the top 24 in season-ending standings secured their spots for the next season, while the remaining are either retained by the team or relegated.

Interestingly, some new faces are also to be seen in the fourth edition of LIV. Ollie Schniederjans, who was ranked number one in the amateur golfer ranking and had played on the PGA Tour in the past, is a new entry to the Saudi circuit on a reserve basis.

The American golfer has been playing at the professional level since 2015. He currently plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. While he was ranked number one in the amateur rankings, his highest professional ranking was 77.

Aside from the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour events, the 31-year-old had also competed in the Majors. His best finish at The Open Championship was recorded in 2015 when he was tied for 12th place, while at the U.S. Open, it's T42, which he recorded the same year. He also competed at the PGA Championship and finished T59 in 2018.
