Paige Spiranac has dispelled a longstanding rumor on social media about the 'promise' she made in the event of Rickie Fowler's major win. She took to Instagram to clarify the post.

Spiranac is one of the most popular figures in golf, with over four million followers on Instagram. Additionally, she has over one million followers on X and more than 1.6 million on TikTok.

On Friday, January 24, Spiranac held a Q&A session on Instagram, where she answered some interesting questions from fans. One fan asked her about the 'promise' to go topless if Fowler won a major championship. However, the 31-year-old golf influencer debunked the myth, claiming that it was a fake tweet posted by an impersonator.

"We're talking like four or five years ago," she said, "Someone created a fake tweet that said, 'I will show the girls if Rickie Fowler wins a major.' So every single year, this fake tweet pops up all the time, and I get asked if it's real or not. It is fake. The girls are real.
"The tweet is fake, and I will... It will never die. Every year, I'm like, 'Finally, it won't pop up,' and it just popped up like yesterday. It will never die, and it's insane."

Paige Spiranac gives 'sports' advice to newly become parents

In one of the questions, a fan who will soon become a parent asked Paige Spiranac which sport he should choose for his baby girl. In reply, Spiranac first congratulated the fan and then insisted on not forcing just one sport on the kid.

"I'm a huge advocate for having your child play a bunch of different sports. It's great for their development," she said." I've seen so many kids specialize in one sport at a very young age, and it results in burnout and just a bunch of other not-so-fun things. So, have your child play everything."

Spiranac herself had spoken about the burnout from golf in the past. In one of the past interviews, she talked about how the burnout forced her to take early retirement from the game.

"I was driving myself crazy because I felt like I should be achieving at a much higher level," she said as per Toronto Sun. "I had everything to be a world-class golfer, but I just couldn’t put it together and I didn’t know why. It was driving me actually insane."

Spiranac eventually retired from the game in 2016 before she decided to become a social media personality.
