Greg Norman recently gave himself credit for reportedly improving the game while he was the CEO of LIV Golf. In a recent interview with Australian Golf Digest, the veteran golfer spoke about his tenure at LIV.
Scott O'Neil took up the mantle after Norman as the new chief executive officer of the Saudi Arabia-backed golf league. Recently, the 69-year-old former CEO spoke about his contributions towards the evolution of LIV Golf. As reported by the Australian Golf Digest, Norman said in the interview:
"Once my official tenure at LIV is up, which is August 31st of this year, I will stay involved with LIV in some way, shape or form. I’m going to stay on the board. So there will be that part of my life, but it won’t be as consuming as what it was before.
"When I look back on my past three and a half years, from my past 20 years, oh my gosh, I really have changed the game of golf more than what people realise.”
O'Neil has around 25 years of experience in the sports and entertainment management industry. Although he comes as a replacement for the former LIV CEO, Norman’s involvement with LIV will not end. As per his words, Norman will "slow down, yes" but he has no plans of retirement anytime soon.
Greg Norman will continue to stay involved with the PIF-backed golf league in the coming days. According to him, he has worked on opening 124 new golf courses. In the coming years, Norman plans to "double the portfolio of golf courses" he has opened. Even with him exiting the post of CEO, LIV Golf will continue to have Norman’s influence on them.
