"Grip it and rip it" - John Daly's special message for son Daly II ahead of his Korn Ferry Tour debut

John Daly has sent a special message for his son John Daly II ahead of his Korn Ferry Tour debut. The father-son duo have occasionally been seen teaming up together on course or sometimes Little John is seen caddying up for his father. He'll now be debuting at the Compliance Solutions Championship from June 20 to 23 at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.

John Daly II is the youngest child of golfer Daly. His mother is Daly's third wife Sherrie Miller. In an X video post on Korn Ferry's account, Daly said:

"Hey, everybody, I'm so excited to see how my son plays in the Compliance Solutions Championship Korn Ferry tournament in Norman, Oklahoma. Unfortunately, I can't be there to support him. I'll be playing the DICK'S Open Championship in Endicott. But anyway, let’s go Little John. Thank you guys."

Daly further asked fans to support his son in his debut:

"Once again, go watch my son grip it and rip it and I know he's a little nervous, but he's so excited. And as the Daly family, we cannot thank y'all enough. Go get them Little John Griffin and rip it. See y’all."

Daly II plays collegiate golf for the University of Arkansas and has completed his sophomore year. He has averaged 71.78 strokes in his last eight events and has had two top-10 finishes.

The father-duo son was last seen at the 2021 PNC Championship, where they trumped Tiger Woods and his son Charlie by two shots. Daly had praised his son after the final round at the tournament, saying (via Golf Week):

"Yesterday was all him. I putted so bad. I felt like I gave him some better lines today and I finally hit some decent shots into some of the holes so we both just played great. He played unbelievable yesterday and I played a little better today, so I made him [Daly Jnr] happy."

Daly and his son had appeared at PNC Championship in five earlier events before 2021 and finished in the top 10 in all appearances including a runner-up finish in 2018. They were runner-up in 2022 as well. Further, Little John has also caddied for his father at the 150th Open.

John Daly II signed NIL deal with Hooters in 2022

John Daly II signed an NIL deal along with his father in 2022. As per the deal, both father and son will take part in the Hooters' social media campaigns and will wear Hooters clothing, and host events. John Daly’s caddie will also carry a Hooters golf bag on the PGA Tour Champions circuit.

After signing the deal, John Daly II said (via Hooters):

"I have seen my father’s great relationship with Hooters over the years, and I am proud to continue my family’s association with this iconic brand."

Daly will next be seen in DICK'S Open Championship in Endicott from June 21 to 23, 2024. He will be in Endicott after his best performance of T22 in the 2023 season.
