Has Billy Horschel won a major championship? Past record explored

PGA: The Open Championship - Third Round

Billy Horschel's chances of winning a Major are currently quite high as he's leading the Open Championship with 4-under. But, as far as Horschel's record in the PGA Major Championships is concerned, it doesn't include a win at any Major.

Last year, he finished at T52 and T43 at the Masters Tournament and the US Open, respectively. At the Open Championship and the PGA Championship, he missed the cutline. The year before, he missed the cutline at the US Open and didn't finish within the top-20 in the other three Majors.

In 2019 and 2020 too Horschel didn't finish in the top-20 in any of the Majors (the 2020 Open Championship was called off for COVID-19). His last under-20 finishes were at the 2016 Masters Tournament, where he finished T17, and the 2013 US Open, where he ended the tournament T4.

Currently, Horschel is playing at the Open Championship and he's been playing well since the opening round. In the first round, he dropped two birdies and three bogeys to finish at 72. On Friday, he shot four birdies for a 68 for the round. In the third round, he dropped four birdies to land at 69. Round four begins Sunday morning at Royal Troon.

Horschel sat at the top of the leaderboard on Saturday night. Below him on the leaderboard is a six-way tie that includes Justin Rose and Xander Schauffele.
