Tiger Woods rejoiced in a successful career on the amateur circuit. He won the Junior World Golf Championships six times, the US Junior Amateur three times, and the US Amateur three times. He won his last US Amateur title in 1996. That same year, he turned professional and started playing on the PGA Tour.

In his debut year on the men's tour, he won the Las Vegas Invitational and Walt Disney World/Oldsmobile Classic. In the Las Vegas Invitational, he defeated Davis Love III in a playoff. In the Oldsmobile Classic, he scored 21-under 267 to secure a one-shot victory over Payne Stewart.

With those successes in his debut year, Tiger Woods was named the Rookie of the Year. But that was just the beginning of filling his cabinet with trophies. The next year, he won his first Masters Tournament with a twelve-shot lead. His next Major win came in 1999 at the PGA Championship, where he defeated Sergio Garcia with 70, 67, 68, and 72 over the four rounds.

He didn't stop there and went on to win three Majors in 2000. He won the US Open by 15 stroke margin, the US Open by 8 strokes, and the PGA Championship in a playoff. In the following year, he won his second Masters title with a two-shot lead.

Then in 2002, Woods won a third Masters and a second US Open. In 2005, he again won the Masters, along with the Open Championship. In 2006, he won the Open Championship again, along with the PGA Championship. From 2007 to 2019, Woods won three Major trophies. He won a fourth PGA Championship, a third US Open, and his last Major title came in the 2019 Masters. Including the Majors, Woods flaunts 82 PGA titles.

Tiger Woods' 2024 season until now

Tiger Woods played in only four events this season. He started with the Genesis Invitational, where he couldn't finish Friday's round due to flu-like symptoms. He had to withdraw and next appeared at the Masters Tournament.

In the Masters Tournament, he finished in the last position on the leaderboard. Over the four days, he shot 73, 72, 82 and 77. Following that, he appeared at the PGA Championship, where he missed the cutline after playing two rounds of 72 and 77.

He next participated in the US Open, where he again missed the cut after scoring 74 and 73 over the two days. The US Open was won by Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy missing out on the win by one stroke.

Woods will next appear at the Open Championship, which will take place at Royal Troon from July 18 to 21. The last Major of the year flaunts a purse of $16.5 million and the winner will receive a hefty chunk of that sum.
