The 15-year-old did not seem to be able to control his anger on the golf course. He was visibly disappointed with his game and after hitting a shot, Woods hit his driver on the ground in frustration. A clip of the incident went viral on the internet. Here is a post of it on X.

A fan stated in reply that Charlie Woods might quit golf after this performance.

Others came to his support, saying that he is young and should improve as he grows older:

"He is frustrated because he believes he let the large gallery down. He’s young and he’ll learn how to play for himself. No one knows the pressure he has to endure. I’m pulling for him."

"He looked horrible and completely lost. He’s young but I’m not sure how good he will be. Time will tell," a fan said.
"Obviously not jumping for joy on that tee shot. Hopefully he learns from this experience," another wrote.

Father Tiger watches Charlie Woods play at US Junior Amateur

Tiger Woods traveled from Scotland to suburban Detroit to see his son play at the US Junior Amateur. The legendary American golfer teed it up at The Open Championship at Royal Troon last week. Unfortunately, his outing at the Major ended early after he struggled with his game and failed to make the cut.

Similarly, fans were excited to watch Charlie play at Oakland Hills in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, but he had a rough day. He missed the cut after playing two rounds of 82 and 80. He ended the first round with five bogeys and further struggled in the second.

Fans could next watch Charlie play at the PNC Championship later this year. He will probably be joining his father, Tiger Woods, at the renowned father-son duo challenge match.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods admitted during a post-round conference at The Open Championship 2024 that he will not return to compete until the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas and will later tee off at the PNC Championship. He said (via ASAP Sports):

"I'm going to just keep getting physically better and keep working on it. Hopefully just come back for our - what is it, our fifth major, the Father/Son, so looking forward to it."

This year's PNC Championship is scheduled from December 20 to 22 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Course.
