"He's a man amongst boys right now" - PGA Tour pro says Bryson DeChambeau’s YouTube is blowing up thanks to his 'impressive' US Open run

PGA Tour Pro Michael Kim has praised Bryson DeChambeau after his performance in the US Open 2024. DeChambeau has taken a big lead at the 124th US Open at Pinehurst No.2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

"Bryson's YouTube subscribers are going up by the minute! But seriously, he’s a man amongst boys right now. So impressive"

At the time of publishing, DeChambeau has garnered 695K subscribers on his YouTube channel. He has gained 80 million views in the 98 videos he has posted on his channel.

Bryson DeChambeau carded second lowest round at Pinehurst on Saturday, June 15. DeChambeau secured two birdies on the 5th and 7th holes and a bogey on the 4th hole on the front nine. On the back nine, he scored four birdies on the 10th, 11th, 14th, and 17th holes and a double bogey on the 16th hole to finish with a score of 3-under 67. Only Collin Morikawa scored 4-under 66 in the third round.

DeChambeau had carded 67 and 69 in the first two rounds. He is leading Matthieu Pavon, Rory Mcllroy, and Patrick Cantlay by three shots. Ludvig Aberg who was leading the leaderboard after 36 holes slipped to T5 after a dismal 3-over 73 in the third round.

DeChambeau's strategy for the final round of the tournament would be to play safe and target the middle of the greens. He said (via PGA Tour):

"Just going to say it. Tomorrow it's the same quote I've said all week: Trying to have boring golf. Middle of the greens never moves."

Bryson DeChambeau has performed at the US Open consistently in his nine earlier appearances. The LIV Golfer has had four top-25 finishes. He won the 2020 US Open by six strokes over Matthew Wolff.
