The DP World Tour is set to resume, after its early-season break, with the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2025. The event will tee off on Thursday, January 16, at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai. The competition, being held across four days, will see a stacked 126-player field compete for the $1,530,000 winner’s paycheck from the $9,000,000 prize purse.

The Dubai Desert Classic will feature a list of stars, including Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Robert MacIntyre, Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee, and Akshay Bhatia. Apart from the big European stars, the event will also have a list of LIV golfers competing, including the likes of Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Patrick Reed, Adrian Meronk, and Dean Burmester.

Despite the stacked field, the top-ranked golfers are also the favorites to win the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2025. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, World No. 3 McIlroy tops the event’s odds list with +360 odds. It is pertinent to note that the Northern Irishman will be targeting a three-peat in Dubai this weekend.

However, he will be closely followed by event debutant and LIV Golf favorite Jon Rahm. The former Masters champion enters the contest with +500 odds. The top two are followed by Englishmen and Ryder Cup teammates Tyrrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood. They come into the Dubai weekend with +900 and +1100 odds, respectively.

It is pertinent to note that Hatton enters the event having made his intentions clear to make the Ryder Cup team. It’ll be interesting to see how the breakaway tour players, including him and Rahm, finish the weekend.

Viktor Hovland, who comes on the back of a domestic injury, is another big name to watch at the Emirates Golf Club. The Norwegian golfer holds +1400 odds. Robert MacIntyre (+2200), Adam Scott (+2500), Thorbjorn Olesen (+3000), Rasmus Hojgaard (+3000), Akshay Bhatia (+3500), Min Woo Lee (+3500) and Dean Burmester (+3500) are the other top-rated players. Nicolai Hojgaard is a longshot favorite with +6500 odds.
