Tiger Woods held a press conference this Friday, December 20, after playing in the Pro-Am event of the PNC Championship. The 15-time major champion spoke on various topics, including the extraordinary season Scottie Scheffler signed in 2024.

A reporter asked Woods what impressed him most about Scheffler's performance. Woods' answer included the "few mistakes" made by the current World No. 1.

This was part of what Woods had to say:

"I think that it's not making that many mistakes. We can all make birdies. We can all have hot rounds. But how good is your bad? Everyone's good is good out here, but his bad is really, really impressive. He doesn't do a whole lot wrong.
He understands how to not compound mistakes. It may not happen over the course of a week, but it happens over the course of big events, months of play at an elite level. It just adds up. Not making mistakes adds up."

Tiger Woods also praised the way Scottie Scheffler "handled the pressure" and predicted several "unbelievable" years in his future:

"I think how he's handled the pressure and the expectations with he and his family, I think they've done an unbelievable job. He's just coming into his own. This is going to be the start of some unbelievable years."

Scheffler won seven PGA Tour events in 2024, including one major (the Masters), the Players Championship, the TOUR Championship, and four signature events (the Arnold Palmer Invitational, RBC Heritage, Memorial Tournament, and Travelers Championship). In addition, he won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and his second consecutive Hero World Challenge title.
