“Holy s**t”: A 13-y/o Sam Horsfield left LIV Star Ian Poulter completely floored with his skill

Ian Poulter recently commented on the performance of Sam Horsfield on the Inside The Ropes podcast by the Majesticks GC on December 1, 2024. The veteran golfer spoke about his compatriot's skills and how talented he was even at a very young age.

The team posted an update on X (previously Twitter) on December 04, 2024 featuring a short clip from the episode. In the video, the LIV Golfer was seen praising the now 28-year-old's skills from when he was aged 13. While talking about Horsfield, Poulter revealed what happened on the course that blew him away:

"I've known Sam since he was 13. So for 14 years I've played golf with him. Terry, my caddie said to me, "There's a kid I want you to play golf with. He's awesome. So I'm like yeah - bring him over let's have a game.

"So we played nine holes and he never missed a fairway. Didn't miss a green... shot level par... I was like, holy s**t. That's really impressive."

Sam Horsfield started playing at the tender age of five. At the University of Florida, he added multiple feathers on his crown before turning professional in 2017. Horsfield has since secured three professional wins, with the first coming in 2020.

He plays alongside Ian Poulter for the Majesticks GC. Horsfield made his LIV Golf League debut in 2022 and ranked 23rd at the end of his first season. In 2023, fans saw him reach the 40th position with 16 points. Horsfield ranked 31st in the 2024 LIV season and ended with 35.03 points.

The British star has won 17 tournaments across different tours till now. He holds a 15-8-2 record in the Ryder Cup and a 6-0-1 record in the singles. Before he joined the Saudi Arabia-backed Golf League, 'The Postman', as called by his teammates, reached the fifth rank worldwide.

The co-captain of Majesticks GC made his LIV debut back in 2022. His debut season ended with him ranking 31 on the leaderboard. In 2024, he was ranked 37 with 25.22 points.

The 48-year-old finished in the top ten twice this LIV Golf season. He ranked fifth at the Chicago event and tied for eighth in Hong Kong. Ian Poulter stood 15th in fairway hit percentage with a score of 60.18. With a 1.58 putting average, he ranked 14th on the list.
