"Hopefully I can rewrite some of those goals"- 20 y.o Nick Dunlap on the cusp of qualifying for the FedEx Cup playoffs in his rookie year

PGA Tour rookie Nick Dunlap has had an excellent season this year. The 20-year-old golfer registered two victories with three top-10 finishes. He won the first PGA Tour for the year, The American Express, and the recently concluded Barracuda Championship.

Nick Dunlap's goal was to make it to the FedExCup playoffs, and with one final tournament remaining on the regular PGA Tour, he looks to be on the verge of making it to the playoffs. He is ranked 66th in the FedExCup rankings, and only the top 70 golfers make it to the playoffs. Speaking via "SiriusXMPGATour" on X, Dunlap said he wants to rewrite some of his goals.

"Starting out the year, obviously, kind of, you know, as far as points go, I didn't get the points for Amex. But, you know, and not playing well at Genesis, the points, started off low. So it was kind of a goal, beginning of the year, just to get into playoffs. Now, hopefully, I can rewrite some of those goals," Nick Dunlap said.

Nick Dunlap did not receive FedExCup points for winning the American Express, as the tournament is not eligible for FedExCup points. But thanks to his recent victory at the Barracuda Championship, the American golfer got himself into the FedExCup playoff race.

Nick Dunlap is competing in the Wyndham Championship this week, the final event of the regular PGA Tour season. He will hope to make a strong finish and cement his position in the playoffs.

When will Nick Dunlap tee off in the 2024 Wyndham Championship?

Nick Dulap is paired with Jhonnattan Vegas and Davis Riley for the 2024 Wyndham Championship. This three-ball will tee off in the afternoon from the back nine at 1:05 PM ET for the first round at the Sedgefield Country Club.

However, in the second round, they will tee off early in the morning at 7:45 am ET from the back nine. This is the final week before the FedExCup playoffs begin, so all golfers competing around the 70th rank will try their best to accumulate as many points as possible.
