The US Open 2024 concluded on Sunday, June 16, with Bryson DeChambeau lifting the major championship for the second time in his career. He finished at 6-under and beat Rory McIlroy by one stroke.
Twelve LIV Golf professionals competed at the US Open 2024, with four of them missing the cut: Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Eugenio Chacarra, and Adrian Meronk.
While DeChambeau became the second active LIV Golf member to win a major, the other seven associated players also performed well. Here's a look at the performances of all eight LIV Golf pros who made the cut.
Performances of LIV Golfers at US Open 2024 explored
Bryson DeChambeau: Champion
Bryson DeChambeau remained the top LIV golf professional at yet another major this season. After finishing T6 at the Masters Tournament and as runner-up at the PGA Championship, he finally overcame the final hurdle to claim his second US Open title.
DeChambeau faced a tough challenge from Rory McIlroy in the final round. Nevertheless, he held his nerve and made an incredible bunker shot on the eighteenth hole to beat the Northern Irishman by one shot. He is now the second active player from the Saudi-backed circuit, after Brooks Koepka, to win a major championship.
Sergio Garcia: T12
At the start of this month, Sergio Garcia didn't know if he would make it to the US Open 2024. He had lost in the final qualifying playoffs and was the first alternate.
However, the veteran golfer made it into the playing field at Pinehurst and made the most of the opportunity. He carded rounds of 69, 71, 71, and 70 to finish at 1-over and secure a T12 finish at Pinehurst this week. This was his best finish at any major since winning the Masters Tournament in 2017.
Tyrrell Hatton: T26
Tyrrell Hatton was in the top ten at Pinehurst until the final round. He carded 7 over 77 to slip to T26 after four rounds.
Brooks Koepka: T26
Brooks Koepka made a 16-spot surge on Sunday after shooting an even-par 70 and aggregate at 6-over. He has yet to make a top-ten finish at the majors this season.
Cameron Smith: T32
Cameron Smith carded 71 in the opening round and then made three consecutive 72s to aggregate at 7-over and tie for 32nd. Last year, he finished fourth at LACC.
David Puig: T55
David Puig had a rollercoaster week at Pinehurst, starting with a low, then making a comeback, followed by another off day to conclude the tournament.
Puig carded 76, 68, 69, and 78 to aggregate at 11-over and finish 55th this week.
Martin Kaymer: T64
Martin Kaymer aggregated 13 overs after four rounds to tie for 64th at the US Open 2024. Notably, he is one of the four US Open winners Pinehurst has witnessed.
Dean Burmester: 69th
Dean Burmester shot 74, 71, 76, and 74 to aggregate at 15-over and finish the week in 69th place.
