Brooks Koepka's win at the 2023 PGA Championship marked the fifth major win of his career. Koepka took home the Wanamaker trophy for the third time. This was a sweet victory for the golfer, who missed out on winning the 2023 Masters. Now, with a win under his belt, Brooks Koepka has risen to number 13 on the OWGR points board.

Koepka jumped 31 places thanks to his PGA Championship victory, as he inches closer to his former World No. 1 title. Koepka's second-place finish at the 2023 Masters saw him jump from 118th to 39th. After slipping to 44th, he made his comeback at the PGA Championship and now sits at World No. 13.

Scottie Scheffler reclaimed his World No. 1 title over Jon Rahm after finishing T2 at the PGA Championship. Viktor Hovland, who finished alongside Scheffler, jumped from 11th to World No. 6.

The OWGR board has been brutal on the LIV Golfers, banning them after their defection to the LIV Golf Series. It was a series of unfortunate events. From Dustin Johnson falling out of the top 50 for the first time in 13 years to Sergio Garcia falling out of the top 100, LIV Golfers faced the brunt of the situation.

It was a big jump for Phil Mickelson as well, who entered the tournament ranked 425th in the world. However, he quickly jumped back up to World No. 72 after his performance at the PGA Championship.

Brooks Koepka picks up fifth major win at 2023 PGA Championship

Brooks Koepka finished first at the PGA Championship 2023 after carding a -3 in the final round. He finished with a -9, two shots clear of Hovland and Scheffler. This victory was a sweet one for Koepka, as he said via Golf Monthly:

"I think this one is probably the most meaningful of them all with everything that's gone on, all the crazy stuff over the last few years. It feels good to be back and to get number five."

This victory marked Koepka's first major win in four years. A series of injuries left him unable to perform at his best and things finally felt back in control for the golfer after the PGA Championship win.
