The 2024 Presidents Cup is underway at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada. The biennial event started in 1994 when Team USA took on the International Team in a format that is similar to that of the Ryder Cup.

The tournament features several match-play formats, including foursomes, fourball, and a concluding singles event on Sunday. To claim victory in the Presidents Cup, a team must secure at least 15.5 points out of a possible 30 points. The first team to amass 15.5 points will be declared the champion.

Here are the final scores for the last ten years of the Presidents Cup (2015–2022):

  • 2015- United States def. Internationals, 15 ½-14 ½
  • 2017- United States def. Internationals, 19-11
  • 2019- United States def. Internationals, 16-14
  • 2022- United States def. Internationals, 17 ½-12 ½.

Team USA has dominated this tournament since its inception. In the 14 editions held to date, the USA has emerged victorious 12 times. The International Team has managed to win only once, in 1998, while a tie occurred in 2003.

The United States team currently holds a commanding lead with a score of 11-7. To secure their 13th championship, they need to win at least five matches and draw one on the final day. The International Team, on the other hand, requires eight wins and a draw to claim their second title.

Hence, the United States team appears to be in a slightly more favorable position to secure the championship. Their impressive comeback on Saturday strengthened their prospects. Although the International Team successfully won all five matches on Friday, they were unable to sustain this momentum on Saturday, allowing the USA to regain control of the event.

With the singles matches commencing on Sunday, the International Team will need to deliver exceptional performances and hope for some favorable circumstances to prevent the United States from claiming the 2024 Presidents Cup title.

Here are the pairings and tee times for the Sunday singles match (All tee times in ET):
