The LPGA Tour’s Dio Implant LA Open concluded on Sunday with Ruoning Yin lifting the trophy. The 20-year-old Chinese golfer beat Georgia Hall to clinch the victory. Yin took the win in normal time as she narrowly avoided a playoff at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
With the win, Yin bagged the winner’s share of $262,500. It is pertinent to note that this was the second event in a row that had a $1.75 million purse. The LPGA’s fifth event of the 2023 season saw Yin’s career earnings jump to $453,799. Apart from the prize money, the young champion golfer also bagged some valuable golf ranking points on Sunday.
While Yin took the top prize, runner-up Georgia Hall settled for a paycheck of $159,720. Hyo Joo Kim and Patty Tavatanakit finished T3. They won $102,749 each. Meanwhile, one of the LPGA event favorites, Nelly Korda, settled for a T5 finish along with Carlota Ciganda. She won $65,858 for her efforts.
Danielle Kang bagged $43,869 for finishing T7, while Atthaya Thitikul won $35,416 for a 10th-place finish. LPGA star Lydia Ko fell short and finished T34. She settled for a $10,975 paycheck.
