Nelly Korda won the Mizuho Americas Open 2024 on Sunday. The women’s World No.1 golfer took her season’s win count to six. Korda’s maiden trip to Liberty National saw her bag $450,000 for the win.
With the win, Korda became the fastest player to earn $2,000,000 in a single LPGA season. The first prize paycheck took the 25-year-old’s 2024 earnings to $2,943,708 and her career earnings to $11,880,981.
It is pertinent to note that Korda’s big wins this season include the Chevron Championship, where she won a whopping $1,185,000.
Apart from the paycheck, Korda also won the Mizuho Americas Open trophy along with valuable ranking points. Notably, Mizuho also covers hotel expenses and has a ferry shuttle for golfers to reach the course, adding to the golfers’ perks.
It is pertinent to note that the LPGA event’s purse was increased from $2,750,000 to $3,000,000 this season. Rose Zhang had won $412,000 for winning the tournament last year. Notably, Zhang withdrew from the event earlier in the week, leaving her with no earnings.
