Nick Taylor shared a heartfelt message after winning the 2025 Sony Open in Hawaii. The Canadian golfer emerged victorious at last week’s PGA Tour event by defeating Nico Echavarria in a playoff.

On January 14, Taylor took to his X account to share his outing in Hawaii. He was elated to celebrate his win with his parents and also expressed gratitude towards his fans, team, volunteers, and partners at the event.

Speaking of his last week’s outing, Taylor wrote:

"Win no.✋🏻on Tour! My first with mom and dad on the ground. Special to enjoy this victory with those who have made all of mine possible from the beginning. I’m humbled to be the @sonyopenchampion after a great battle with @nicolas_ech.
"Incredible playoff poise from @davemarkle66! A sincere thanks to my team, partners, fans, and all the volunteers who make this event one I look forward to every season. See you next year, Honolulu. Onto @theamexgolf," he added.

Notably, after four rounds of the Sony Open, Nick Taylor settled in a tie for the lead with Nico Echavarria. They both competed in a playoff to determine the winner. Both carded birdies on the first playoff hole, but on the second, the Canadian made a birdie and won his fifth PGA Tour event.

Nick Taylor reflects on his performance at the Sony Open in Hawaii 2025

In the 2025 Sony Open press conference in Hawaii on Sunday, January 12, Nick Taylor reflected on his final round performance at the PGA Tour event. In the final round, he made five birdies, two bogeys, and an eagle on the 18th for a 5-under 65.

Taylor said of his performance (via ASAP Sports):

"It was a grind of a day. I didn't really look at the leaderboards until maybe 13 or 14. Had a sense of what was going on. When I missed the short putts on 15 and 16 I really thought I needed to get to 17. That's kind of my number I had to start the day."
"You know, the chip-in on 18 was awesome. In that situation I think was -- all I was thinking was hole it. I felt like par or birdie wasn't going to change a whole lot with Nico having a birdie chance there. Read it great and went in, and in the playoff to have those two nice up and downs to hang in there," he added.

Meanwhile, Echavarria settled in second place at the Sony Open 2025, followed by JJ Spaun tied for third place with Stephan Jaeger. Eric Cole settled in solo fifth place, followed by Jackson Suber tying for sixth place with Adam Schenk, Patrick Fishburn, and Keegan Bradley.
