Harris English got emotional after winning on the PGA Tour at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open. He last won a tournament on the circuit in 2021 at the Travelers Championship and has since been seeking his next victory, which finally came at the Torrey Pines Golf Course on Saturday, January 25.

With the final round of 73, he settled with an overall score of 8-under and registered a one-shot win over Sam Stevens. After his victory, Harris English opened up about his performance and reflected on his journey while talking to CBS reporter Amanda Balionis. He said:

“Yeah, it’s always a journey. I’m 35 now. I’ve been doing this for 14 years, and it never gets easier. I enjoy the grind of it. I love being out here on the PGA Tour, and I love doing stuff like this. This is what we play for.
“I have so much respect for this game and so much respect for players out here. It’s hard to win. I might have looked calm out there on the course but inside your emotions are going crazy. I just know how hard it is to win and it’s so much fun and you got to soak it in when you do it," he added.

Harris English earned $1,674,000 in prize money. Moreover, he also earned 500 FedEx Cup points after winning the Farmers Insurance Open 2025.

English started his outing at the Farmers Insurance Open on Wednesday with a solid round of 68. He struggled in the second round and scored 73 but bounced back with a third round of 66 to take the lead. He entered the final sitting in the top position on the leaderboard, and after playing the final round of 73, he maintained the lead and won the tournament.

During the press conference of the Farmers Insurance Open on January 25, the American golfer opened up about his performance, saying (via Tee Script):

"As a leader coming in the final round, you kind of like that, that it's going to be a grind. You're going to miss fairways, miss greens, but you've got to miss it in the right spot. I kind of leaned on my putter. I had that thing for a long time and started putting with it my senior year of college in 2011.
"Haven't putted well the last couple of weeks in Hawaii and Palm Springs last week, but I worked a lot more this week and I felt like my speed was really dialed in and every putt was going in at the right speed," he added.

Sam Stevens played the final round of 68, jumped 13 positions on the leaderboard, and settled in second place. Meanwhile, Andrew Novak finished in third place, followed by Sungjae Im and Kris Ventura tied for fourth place.
