Hideki Matsuyama opens up about playing with Collin Morikawa at the Sentry 2025. The Japanese golfer shot a stunning round of 62 at the ongoing season-opening PGA Tour event on Saturday, January 4. His impressive performance extended his lead in the tournament. Interestingly, Collin Morikawa also shot a 62 on Saturday, settling in second place.

Matsuyama and Morikawa were paired together for the third round, along with Corey Conners. Following the round, during a press conference, Matsuyama praised Morikawa's game and admitted that he followed his game.

Speaking about the American golfer, the former Masters winner said (via ASAP Sports):

"Collin played well and I just kind of followed him, so good day."

During the conference, a reporter asked Matsuyama if he had joked with Morikawa while playing together. The Japanese golfer replied:

"I didn't really talk much, but he played so well that I just kind of followed his lead, and just kind of kept on."

After three rounds at the Sentry, Matsuyama leads at 27-under, with rounds of 65, 65, and 62. Morikawa is in second place at 26-under, while Thomas Detry is third at 22 under.
