Robert MacIntyre has completed one season on the PGA Tour. However, according to him, not much has changed in his life after earning the Tour card.
MacIntyre is a three-time winner on the DP World Tour, who earned his PGA Tour card last year. This week, he is competing in the DP World Tour Championship for the sixth straight year. However, this is his first appearance as a PGA Tour member.
On Tuesday, November 11, during the pre-event press conference of the DP World Tour Championship, Robert MacIntyre was asked about the changes in his life after getting the PGA Tour membership.
"I mean, I don't know if my life's changed," he replied. "Obviously you make more money."
However, he added that it was definitely a career-changer for him, considering he could pick and choose the events he wanted to play.
"I've now got to the top level of professional golf, the Top-25 percent of professional golfers," he said. "You can then pick your schedule and you're in all the major events and you're in all the top events you can play in and you can pick-and-choose, and that's where you want to be."
"Last year I obviously played a lot and that's because you have to play the events you get in. I said it from when these cards came about, what an opportunity it is to get as high up the world of golf as you can. I think the majority of golfers out here have got that dream, as well."
Robert MacIntyre added that he was fortunate to secure one of the PGA Tour cards and had worked hard to reach this position. He also showered praise on a couple of golfers.
"There's plenty of guys that can get there, as well. Rasmus (Højgaard) has had a hell of a year and I'm hoping Jordan Smith gets over the line. There's so many good guy, and not just good golfers, but they are good people," he concluded.
