Brandel Chamblee was accused of being negative in his coverage of the US Open when it came to eventual champion Bryson DeChambeau. There is a belief stated by one X user that Chamblee was openly rooting against the LIV Golf star during the tournament.

Chamblee refuted that claim and went after those who believed it in a response online.

Chamblee shared his take on his perceived negative opinion of DeChambeau on his page:

"I've thought a lot about how LIV bots, and those they've bought, wanted to, for Saudi/MBS/PIF purposes, spread that narrative. Because they have nefarious designs in the game and want to discredit anyone whose goal runs counter to theirs. I lauded Bryson before, during, and after his win, as was befitting his accomplishment."

Chamblee's comparison of anyone who thought he was negative towards DeChambeau to bots got a lot of fans talking. Many of them defended themselves by reporting that they were human and not computers designed only to spread pro-LIV narratives.

"Lol it was so obvious," one said.
"Forget LIV... it's clear he was against Bryson on Sunday," one fan noted.
"Honestly think Chamblee is a huge tool and one of the reasons why I won't watch Golf when he's on the broadcast..." one said.
"The fact that 'LIV Bots' is an actual title in the golf landscape is absurd and hilarious," another laughed.
"I'm not a bot," a fan declared.
"I haven't met a single human being who respects Brandel as a person or pundit the fact he calls anyone who calls him out a LIV bot is truly incredible," one stated.
"I’m not a bot, and he was obvious, blatant, annoying, rude, and mostly- completely obnoxious!" another exclaimed.

Fans were quick to defend themselves and call out Chamblee for his work at Pinehurst No. 2. Despite what Chamblee says, many do not believe him.

Brandel Chamblee skewers Rory McIlroy after US Open loss

Whether or not Brandel Chamblee wanted Bryson DeChambeau to win or lose, he did win and was able to defeat Rory McIlroy thanks in no small part to missed putts within three feet. He missed them on both the 16th and 18th hole, and Chamblee gave his opinion on it.

He said (via Golf.com):

“We’ll be talking about the misses by Rory McIlroy at 16 and 18 forever. We still talk about Hubert Green missing that putt at the Masters. We still talk about Scott Hoch missing that putt.”

He went on to blast McIlroy's routines, saying hat he doesn't understand why golfers feel the need to do things the same way every time. He claimed it was as if McIlroy and others believed the routine of the putt was more important than the actual putt.

Brandel Chamblee cited Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as golfers who ignored routines when it came to clutch putts and they usually hit their shots.
