"I'm just going to try to not freak out"- Maja Stark keeps her cool as she leads halfway through the Maybank Championship

Maja Stark is leading the 2024 Maybank Championship after round two at Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club. She carded -12 at the end of day two and has a narrow lead of one stroke with four golfers in second position with a score of -11.

During the post-round press conference, Stark said she wants to keep cool even if other golfers move ahead.

"I do look at the leaderboards, but I don't know, feels like it's been so long since I was in this position, so I don't really remember. I'm just going to try to not freak out if people are passing me and just keep my cool," Stark said (via ASAP Sports).

The Swedish professional joined the LPGA Tour in 2022 and has registered one victory on the Tour so far, the ISPS Handa World Invitational in 2022.

The 24-year-old golfer will try her best to maintain the lead going into the weekend and register her second LPGA Tour victory. However, she will face a tough challenge as around eleven golfers are within four strokes of the lead.
