Unlike Dustin Johnson, some players actually watched Netflix’s Full Swing. Mito Pereira, who recently created headlines by moving to the LIV Golf League, is one of them. The golfer has now come out to state that he enjoyed the series despite it featuring his PGA Championship heartbreak.

Pereira is featured in Episode 7 of the Netflix series. The episode, titled "Golf is Hard", followed the storylines of Mito Pereira and rookie Sahith Theegala. While Theegala’s rookie journey was one part, the other belonged to Pereira’s PGA Championship outing. The episode showcased his fall at the event. Despite this, the Chilean golfer came out to state that he enjoyed watching the series. Referring to his failure, the LIV golfer claimed that he was “kind of over that.”

Speaking about his episode called "Golf is Hard", Mito Pereira said, as quoted by Golf Week:

“Yeah, I watched it. The first one I watched was episode 7, and then I started the other ones. I think it turned out really good. Obviously, Joaquin and I were in that episode, and it really showed how we are off the course and on the course. Obviously, they showed a lot of the PGA Championship, so that wasn’t great, but it’s good for everybody to watch it.”

He added:

“Actually, PGA Championship has been probably eight months, so I’m kind of over that. I just watch it as — just really watched it and didn’t really feel the same that I felt before.”

It is pertinent to note that last year’s PGA Championship was Mito Pereira’s second major championship appearance. The golfer had a one-shot lead on the final hole but hit his drive into the water and missed out on a playoff spot. The golfer ended up finishing T-3 when Justin Thomas lifted the trophy.

Joaquin Niemann on Mito Pereira’s feature in Full Swing

Mito Pereira’s compatriot and LIV Golf colleague Joaquin Niemann also seemed to enjoy the Netflix series. Speaking about Full Swing, the 24-year-old golfer stated that it was “pretty good.” Adding that he felt similar emotions to that of Mito’s, Niemann said that the series “brought a lot of tough memories.”

He said:

“I watched it. It was pretty good. Same as Mito, I watched that episode first. Yeah, it was good. It brought back a lot of memories, good memories. It also brought a lot of tough memories, just watching Mito — I mean, for us being outside the golf course, it’s just — I think you feel more pressure being outside.”

He added:

“I’m also really proud the way that Mito took it, like a learning experience. I think watching it over and over again and people talking about it, I think it’s good to go over it and see what went wrong, what went good, and just stay positive that week like he took it.”

It is pertinent to note that Mito Pereira Joaquin Niemann is currently on LIV Golf as part of Torque GC. Captained by Niemann, the team consisting of Sebastian Munoz and David Puig is set for the LIV Golf League season opener at Mexico’s Riviera Maya at Mayakoba’s El Camaleon Golf Course.
