Brooks Koepka will join the Augusta field next week to compete at the 2023 Masters alongside the PGA Tour players. Despite LIV Golf players being barred from the PGA Tour, they will be playing in major tournaments.
Brooks Koepka has registered a lead at the ongoing LIV Golf Invitational Orlando and will join the Masters next week. However, ahead of the tournament, the American star golfer spoke about playing alongside PGA Tour players in an interview on Friday (March 31) with I News.
Speaking about the Masters, Koepka confessed that he has no grudges against the PGA Tour or commissioner Jay Monahan. He said:
“I still love the PGA Tour; I’ve got nothing against them. A lot of guys I see on a daily basis around Jupiter still play on the PGA Tour. I have nothing against them. I have nothing against Jay (Monahan)."
He went on to say:
"It’s just competition, right? We are just trying to put up the best model we can, the best golf and then it’s up to the fans. We want people to watch and come to the events. We want to put on a show for everybody.”
Brooks Koepka turned professional in 2012 and has won 16 professional events in his career. Although he is yet to win the Masters, the American golfer has won two major tournaments in his career. He finished second to Tiger Woods in 2019 at The Masters and earned a five-year exemption.
