Ian Poulter joined LIV Golf in 2022 and gave up his DP World Tour membership as the tour imposed $100,000 fines for all golfers who joined LIV Golf. He is one of the most active golfers on social media, especially Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
Recently, a DP World Tour pro, Pablo Larrazabal, shared a post on X and said Spanish pro golf is in a very healthy stage as three golfers are in contention this week to win the Ras Al Khaimah Championship.
"Professional Spanish golf is very healthy… the new generation has 3 chances to win tomorrow at the @DPWorldTour… unfortunately, I am in the old generation…"
Ian Poulter shared a wholesome reply to this post and said age is just a number.
"Pablo, age is only a number. The clubs don’t know how old we are. Mind over matter."
Larrazabal replied to Poulter and said he missed him on the DP World Tour.
"Thank you, my friend… I really missing you guys out here. Take care and have a great season, I will be watching from far…"
The Spanish pro golfer Larrazabal is currently placed at T72 in Ras Al Khaimah Championship, while his countryman Alejandro del Rey leads the tournament at -16 with one round remaining.
Additionally, two other Spanish golfers, David Puig and Ivan Cantero Gutierrez, are placed at T6 and are eight strokes behind the lead. Hence, Larrazabal believes that Spanish pro golf is in a very healthy place.
