“I am not running 18 miles”: Collin Morikawa sits out but cheers for wife Katherine as she makes bold statement for St. Jude fundraiser

Collin Morikawa opted not to take part in a challenge given by his wife, Katherine Morikawa but supported her from the sidelines. Katherine is raising funds for St. Jude and asked her followers to donate by sharing a link in her bio.

She posted a picture of her watch displaying the distance traveled and wrote:

"One mile at a time for those who can't. Please donate to support St. Jude! We'll be matching donations!"

Collin Morikawa reshared the picture and commented that, while he wouldn’t be running 18 miles as indicated on the watch, he fully supported his wife’s effort. He wrote:

"I am not running 18 miles today but fully supporting this one."

At the time of writing, Katherine Morikawa raised $6,884 for St. Jude. Notably, Collin Morikawa recently competed in the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship, finishing in a T22 position. Katherine often accompanies her husband on the golf course to cheer him.

Katherine calls Collin Morikawa the GOAT as she cheers him on at the Paris Olympics.

Before the FedEx St. Jude Championship, Collin Morikawa competed in the Paris Olympics and finished in a tie for 24th place. His wife Katherine accompanied him and cheered him on while calling him the GOAT.

She posted a picture on her Instagram account, where she boasts around 74K followers, to support her husband, writing:

"loved cheering on my goat 🐐🐞 🇺🇸."

However, Collin Morikawa had a challenging outing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He began with a round of 70, followed by a 68, and then carded two more rounds of 70, ultimately finishing in a tie for 24th place.

Scottie Scheffler won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, Tommy Fleetwood secured the silver medal, and Hideki Matsuyama claimed the bronze.

Collin Morikawa then headed to the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he shot rounds of 68, 71, 68, and 67, finishing in a tie for 22nd place. In 2024, Morikawa has played in 19 events, recording one runner-up finish and seven top-10 finishes.
