Bryson DeChambeau stated that Tiger Woods has cut off all contact with him since his move to LIV Golf. The Saudi-backed series player said that he wasn’t expecting a call from the legendary golfer to practice rounds at the Masters.

Speaking ahead of the Masters, the golfer was asked whether anybody from the PGA Tour had cut him off, referring to the alleged animosity between PGA and LIV players. The 29-year-old hinted at Woods’ name. Bryson DeChambeau replied, as quoted by Golfweek:

“Yeah, definitely, I’m sure you can guess who.”

When asked if he was referring to Tiger Woods, the golfer said at the presser in Orange County National ahead of the LIV Golf Orlando:

“Yeah, I’m not going to throw anyone under the bus. He’s been a great friend. I texted him on his birthday. It is what it is. He has his viewpoints on it and thinks we’re potentially hurting his record. If anything, nobody is ever going to touch his record. That’s just it, that’s the bottom line. There’s a chance to grow the game even more and I hope one day he’ll see the vision that we all have out here.”

DeChambeau also conceded that he tended to be more of a lone wolf at events. The golfer added that he’ll be fine playing alone at the Masters, saying:

“I was always kind of a guy who did it myself so I didn’t have too much contact with too many players but we’re cordial. I’ve talked with Jordan (Spieth) numerous times at Dallas National, anybody that’s out there, Will (Zalatoris) I’ve had a couple of conversations with but no problems.”

It is pertinent to note that DeChambeau’s comments comes amid LIV golfers claiming that there is no tension between them and PGA Tour players. The American’s revelation underlines the worries of many claiming that the Saudi-backed series players will have a tough time at Augusta this year with players like Woods and Rory McIlroy on the field.

Bryson DeChambeau doesn't miss anything after moving to LIV Golf

Bryson DeChambeau, who won the 2020 U.S. Open and a total of eight PGA Tour titles before signing with LIV in June, also added that he didn’t miss his former circuit. The golfer reportedly signed a $125 million deal to join LIV and has been a regular there ever since.

He said:

“I miss nothing. I mean, I love the fans, I love the people who came to support me. I loved all that. We’re starting to get the crowds out here, slowly but surely. People are starting to get what the model is and people are starting to like the teams a bit. From what I can see, the general consensus is things are moving in a more positive direction and I’m pleased with that.”

It'll be interesting to see how the drama between the LIV Golf and PGA Tour players unfolds at the Masters, starting April 6th.
