Sahith Theegala's enjoyed a successful debut in TGL's inaugural season. The PGA Tour star didn't hesitate to credit his Los Angeles Golf Club teammates for their role in dominating the match with a 12 to 1 victory over Tiger Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club.

The 27-year-old reflected on his unique experience during the post-match press conference. Despite playing a practice match at the SoFi Center on the morning of January 7, Theegala stated that certain aspects of the game were challenging for him, especially chipping and putting. However, he felt he was able to excel due to his teammates Collin Morikawa and Justin Rose's expertise.

He said (via TGL):

"Yeah, it was super fun...There was still a lot of new aspects that I think we got a lot better sense of as the match went on, but yeah, I was really happy with how the ball was reacting into the screen. The turf feels great. Honestly, chipping and putting are some of the toughest parts just because it's so hard to read the greens. Luckily I had two of the best green readers in the world here. I don't think I even read a putt by myself."

Theegala also credited the SoFi Center's immersive and adrenaline-pumping atmosphere for hyping up the team to perform better. He also suggested that TGL could refine its hammer concept to add more excitement to the singles matches.

Theegala commented (via TGL):

"But overall super fun. Yeah, maybe the hammer stuff, there could be some more nuances with that. Especially with the singles, it's so fun to throw the hammer back and forth, and by that time the match was over. But other than that, I had a blast out there. The adrenaline was pumping. I'm still drenched in sweat by just how excited and nervous I was. It was just such a good time."

Theegala's stellar performance combined with his gratitude for his teammates highlights the camaraderie that TGL aims to bring to golf enthusiasts worldwide. Despite the lopsided score, both Los Angeles Golf Club and Jupiter Links Golf Club players had a lot of fun and shared laughs through friendly banter.
