“I did it too" - JJ Spaun replicates Tiger Woods' hole-out at Dell Technologies Match Play 

JJ Spaun replicated Tiger Woods' eagle hole-out in the opening round of the 2023 Dell Technologies Match Play. Although Woods is not competing in the tournament, he continues to make the headlines.

Spaun also recalled some of Tiger Woods' best moments in Match Play and surprisingly he replicated one at the tournament.

Woods registered a commanding victory over Patrick Cantlay in the 2019 WGC Dell Technologies Match Play on the third day after he holed out from the 13th fairway.

Interestingly, JJ Spaun did something similar on Wednesday, March 22, at the Dell Technologies Match Play. He holed out from 107 yards, while Woods had from 87. Although the location was different, it was almost the same shot as JJ's ball spun into the cup and he made an eagle.

JJ Spaun later shared in a press conference that he and his caddie were discussing Woods' shot from 2019 and luckily he too did that. The American golfer said:

"Kind of hit it up to the right and it was a little right of where I wanted to and we're walking up and I'm like, ‘Isn't this where Tiger hooped it from a couple years ago?’ (My caddie) was like, ‘Yeah, this is.’ So we had it in our head the entire time."

He went on to add:

“I could tell it was going to be pretty good, but then it got really good, and then it just disappeared and the crowd went nuts. It was just funny that the G.O.A.T. did it, that was what we were thinking, and I did it too.”

The opening round of the Dell Technologies Match Play was completed on Wednesday, March 22. JJ Spaun won the round, defeating Matt Fitzpatrick by a score of 5&3.
