The DP World Tour tournament is being held at various courses including Old Course in St Andrews, Scotland, Carnoustie and Kingsbarn Links.

Claire Rogers of Golf.com shared several pictures of Rory McIlroy with his father Gerry. In the pictures, Rory is seen wearing a grey sweater and dark pants while Gerry is seen in a navy blue jacket, gloves and holding a winter beanie.

In the pictures, Rory had his arm around his father as the two pised and smiled warmly at the camera with the iconic clubhouse of St. Andrews in Scotland in the background. They stood on the famous Swilcan Bridge at the golf course. In the sequence of pictures, they can be seen walking across the bridge sharing a beautiful father-son bonding moment.

A video showing Rory's practice was also shared by DP World Tour. It captioned the post:

"18th at the Old Course with Rory and Gerry. #dunhilllinks"

In the video, Rory is seen practicing golf before the tournament and sharing the heartfelt moment with his father later.

Rory McIlroy was born to Gerry and Rosaleen in 1989. He was introduced to golf by his father in Northern Ireland. Gerry worked as a bartender at the Holywood Golf Club and at a sportclub during Mcllroy's childhood, putting more than 100hrs of work in a week to support Rory's dreams. In a previous interview, Rory said (via Essentially Sports):

"I'll never be able to repay mum and dad for what they did. But at least they know they’ll never have to work another day. I’ll do whatever it takes to look after them."

Gerry has a handicap of 2 and the duo has played together earlier in various competitions including Pro-Am Team Championship. The tournament has a prize purse of $5 million.
