Bryson DeChambeau is celebrating his epic 2024 US Open victory by commissioning an all-gold Samsung phone. He received the phone last week during LIV Golf Andalucia by iDesign Gold, a company that creates personalized smartphones using luxury materials.
This gold Samsung phone is worth $9780 and is the world's first-ever 24-carat gold Samsung phone created for Bryson DeChambeau to celebrate his 2024 US Open triumph. The phone is engraved with DeChambeau's name as the 2024 US Open Champion. It also has a screen saver of him lifting the trophy at Pinehurst No.2.
DeChambeau's commissioning of the 24-carat gold phone is no surprise as he is well-known for his unorthodox and unique perspective. The 30-year-old has also unusually customized his golf clubs by having them of the same length with less loft than usual golf clubs.
Throwback to Bryson DeChambeau's victory at the 2024 US Open
Bryson DeChambeau dominated proceedings at the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst and had a lead of three strokes going into the final round. Unfortunately, he did not have a dominant final round, allowing Rory McIlroy to take the lead on the back nine.
But thanks to Rory's fiasco on the final three holes, DeChambeau made a remarkable comeback and held his nerve to win his second US Open title.
The 2024 US Open Champion carded +1 for the day and -6 for the event, while Rory McIlroy finished a stroke behind at -5. The Irishman's two bogeys on the 16th and 18th hole cost him the trophy as he missed two straightforward putts from less than three feet away.
"I was going to try and birdie the hole on 18, obviously, I hit a good drive, but pulled it," DeChambeau said. "But I knew where Rory was. After my tee shot, I was up there going, 'Man, if he makes par, I don't know how I'm going to beat him.' I just really didn't know. Then I heard the moans. Like a shot of adrenaline got in me. I said, 'OK, you can do this,'" Bryson concluded.
Bryson DeChambeau has been in exceptional at the major events this year. Apart from winning at the 2024 US Open, Bryson narrowly missed out on the 2024 PGA Championship as he finished a stroke behind leader Xander Schauffele. At Augusta, he registered his best finish with a T6 in the 2024 Masters.
Hence, going into the 2024 Open Championship, Bryson is one of the favorites to win this week. Even though he has yet to win a tournament in Europe, DeChambeau's current form at major championships makes him one of the top picks at the Royal Troon Golf Club.
