Scottie Scheffler, the world's top golfer, is currently in Paris to lead the Olympic golf field. Despite his competitive focus, Scheffler has found time to enjoy quality moments with his wife, Meredith, and their son, Bennett.
Scheffler has soaked up the city's sights and has also been a spectator at other sporting events. On Tuesday, July 30, he was spotted attending the Women's Gymnastics Team Final at the Bercy Arena.
Several pictures of Scheffler's presence as a spectator at the gymnastics event have gone viral on social media. The photos show him with his wife, Meredith, and son, Bennett.
Earlier, the 28-year-old expressed a desire to fully immerse himself in the Olympic experience. Here's what he said, according to Golfweek:
"Obviously my biggest priority is showing up ready to play this week, but I definitely want to experience a little bit of the Olympics. But it’s definitely been fun, being part of the Olympics, and it’s definitely a different vibe this week.”
The American golfer was also spotted visiting the famous Louvre Museum with his wife and son. Speaking about his visit, Scheffler said:
"We were there for two hours and I felt like I could have been there for days exploring around looking at all the old paintings. I would say the paintings were something that really took me back."
Scottie Scheffler's results ahead of the Olympic event
Scottie Scheffler has already had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the Albatros Course at Le Golf National as he has completed both an 18-hole and a 9-hole round on the course.
Scheffler has never played an official tournament on the course, but he has an advantage in the form of his caddie, Ted Scott. Scott is familiar with the course, having been there during the 2018 Ryder Cup.
Scott worked for Bubba Watson, a member of the American team that lost 17.5 to 10.5. His experience will certainly come in handy for Scheffler.
Scheffler spearheads the American team as their highest-ranked member. The squad is further fortified by double major champions Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa, along with 2023 US Open winner Wyndham Clark.
The 2024 Masters winner is riding a wave of career-best form, having captured six titles in 2024, including The Masters, The Players, and four Signature events. His exceptional season positions him as the overwhelming gold medal favorite. Golfweek places him at +360 odds to claim Olympic glory.
Scheffler will tee off at 4:11 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, August 1, for the opening round of the Olympic golf competition. He will be paired with Rory McIlroy and Ludvig Aberg.
