Nelly Korda finished T26 at the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship in France with a score of 5 under 279. She found herself with a week off during her Europian swing, so she seized the chance to explore some of the continent's many tourist attractions.

Korda herself shared pictures and videos on her Instagram stories, sharing pictures of her time in Croatia. She could be seen on a yacht, sunbathing and eating seafood dishes.

Nelly Korda was accompanied by two friends, Klara Mrčela and Barbara Đapić. Both are sportswomen; Mrčela is a former tennis player while Đapić is a volleyball player.

Klara Mrčela played American college tennis for the University of Texas at Arlington and, most notably, for Cleveland State University. It was at the latter that she played the most (three seasons) and had the best results.

In singles, she notched 39 wins against 45 losses. Her prowess extended to doubles, where she amassed an impressive 41 wins with just 25 losses. Beyond individual success, Mrčela's contributions helped her team win several tournaments. Her talent was further recognized with a Second Team All-Horizon League selection in 2019.

Currently, Mrčela works as a coach at IMG Tennis Academy, which is located in Bradenton, Florida, the same place where Nelly Korda lives.

Đapić, on the other hand, is a professional volleyball player who will play for Gwangju Pepper Savings Bank AI PEPPERS in the South Korean league in the 2024–2025 season.

During her professional career, which began in 2017, she has played for clubs in Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Previously, she played four years of American collegiate volleyball for the University of Arkansas.

What's next for Nelly Korda?

Nelly Korda's main commitment in the near future is the Olympic event, which will be held at Le Golf National in France from August 7–10. Korda will be looking to defend the title that she won three years ago in Tokyo, Japan.

Prior to that, the CPKC Women's Open will be played in Canada from July 25–28. Korda will likely play in this tournament as part of her preparation for the Olympics.

Korda will have little time to recover from the Olympics, as she will travel to the United Kingdom to play the Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald Links and the AIG Women's Open (5th and final major of the season) at St Andrews in consecutive weeks.

Three weeks later, the Solheim Cup will be played. Korda will participate in this event as the American team's top ranked golfer. After that, the LPGA Tour's fall season will begin, with the traditional Asian wing reaching China, Korea, Malaysia, and Japan.

The season will end with the Tour Championship, for which Korda has already qualified. Following the Tour Championship, Nelly Korda and Tony Finau will pair for the Grant Thornton Invitational, an unofficial mixed-team event.
