No, the 2024 Solheim Cup isn't going to be Lexi Thompson's last event. The LPGA Tour player announced her retirement in May 2024. She will be competing in her seventh Solheim Cup, to be held from Friday, 13 September to Sunday, 15 September.

The 11-time LPGA Tour winner had announced her retirement through a video where she narrated a letter to the game of golf. In the video, she said:

"Golf. What can I say after all these years? You have played such an important role for the majority of my life. You welcomed me into your world at such a young age, and for that, I am forever grateful. Though our relationship has been complicated at times, you have taught me resilience, patience, and perseverance."

Lexi Thompson has been a key player for Team USA in the Solheim Cup. She has been part of two victories in 2015 and 2017. Talking about competing in the Solheim Cup, she said, via Golf Digest:

"Just really embracing the moment. This is my favorite event that I've ever played in my career. So enjoying the fans out there, signing the autographs, hearing the slow chants out there right now building up. So just enjoying every step along the way."

After competing in the 2024 Solheim Cup, she is scheduled to play five more tournaments this year. She'll compete in the Kroger Queen City Championship and Arkansas Championship. Then, she'll take a break in October and play two more tournaments in Florida. The last tournament of her professional career will be the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational.
