The 2024 AIG Women's Open, the final women's Major of the year, is underway in Scotland. After the opening round on Thursday, August 22, Charley Hull leads the field at 5-under par. The projected cutline for the tournament is 3-over par after the first round.

The first round of the 2024 AIG Women's Open concluded successfully on Thursday with some phenomenal performances. Charley Hull impressed with her game, shooting a 67 to top the leaderboard. She recorded six birdies and just one bogey. Ruoning Yin and Nelly Korda are tied for second place at 4-under, both carding a round of 68.

Rose Zhang, Lilia Vu, Megan Khang, Alexa Pano, Yuka Saso, and Carlota Ciganda maintained their positions above the cutline. However, Lexi Thompson struggled in the opening round, shooting a 76 and tying for 79th place, settling below the cutline.

Esther Henseleit, who won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, also struggled, carding a 5-over round and finishing two shots behind the projected cutline. After the first round, Minjee Lee, Allisen Corpuz, Gemma Dryburgh, and Stacy Lewis also found themselves below the projected cutline.
