The DP World Tour's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is set to feature several LIV Golf professionals on the field. This will be the first time in a long while that a European Tour event will have a significant number of players from the Saudi-backed circuit.

The 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will take place at the Old Course in Scotland, UK, from October 3 to 6. The DP World Tour event will feature several golf superstars in action, including Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, and others.

On Thursday, September 19, Flushing It, an X handle, confirmed on X that Brooks Koepka, Talor Gooch, Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and ten other LIV Golf professionals are set to compete in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Fans online expressed excitement to see their favorite golfers in action at Old Course. Here's a look at some comments:

"Is LIV taking over?" one fan wrote.
"Does that mean Jon Rahm paid his fines," another fan posted.
"Well they should eat it up bc all I have heard is how great they “all” are," one user commented.
"All big time players," this user remarked.
"Will be watching every DP World Tour tourney where there are LIV Golf players involved. I have never watched one. Maybe they ought to rethink those fines so more of them play in their tournaments," one user posted.
"Wow, this seems so simple to let players play in other tours. I thought the PGAT made it sound like it was difficult to achieve. Wonder how they make it all work!" another fan wrote.

What's next for LIV Golf professionals?

The LIV Golf professionals will be in action this week in Dallas at the final event of the season. The Dallas event is a team championship that will feature all thirteen teams competing for the season title.

Following the thirteen events, Crushers GC, Legion XIII, and Ripper GC have qualified for the quarterfinals after securing the top three spots in the standings. The remaining ten teams will compete for the five remaining quarterfinal spots on Friday, September 20, at Maridoe Golf Club.

Last week, Jon Rahm became the latest individual champion after clinching the Chicago title. In his debut season on the Saudi-backed circuit, Rahm won two titles and collected 235 points. Joaquin Niemann finished runner-up, while Sergio Garcia finished third in the standings.
