Rory McIlroy will not play against Tiger Woods in the 2024 PNC Championship. This week at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, 20 teams featuring professional golfers and their family members will compete in the tournament.

Tiger Woods will also make a return to the competition alongside his son Charlie. However, McIlroy is not in the field. The Northern Irish golfer is scheduled to play this week at The Showdown, scheduled to take place on December 17 in Las Vegas. The tournament will feature LIV Golfers and PGA Tour players. McIlroy will join Scottie Scheffler to play against Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods collaborated to create a new tech-infused golf series, TGL, which will start with its first season in January 2025. The Northern Irish golfer will compete in the series, playing for Boston Common Golf Club.

It has six teams of four players, and Tiger Woods will also be playing in the series for Jupiter Links GC, along with his other team members including Max Homa, Sahith Theegala and Kevin Kisner. Meanwhile, McIlroy's team includes Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, and Hideki Matsuyama.
