Is Tiger Woods playing in the Genesis Scottish Open 2024? Availability explored

Tiger Woods will not be playing at the Genesis Scottish Open, scheduled to take place this week. The American golfer has rarely competed in regular tournaments since his serious car accident in 2021. He usually participates in the majors and other signature PGA Tour events.

Tiger Woods will miss this week's event but will probably return to compete at the British Open next week. He last played at the US Open but failed to make the cut. Following that tournament, he spoke to the media and reflected on his performance, expressing doubts about competing in future events. He said (via National Club Golfer):

“I can’t win the tournament from where I’m at, so it certainly is frustrating. I thought I played well enough to be up there in contention. It just didn’t work out. As far as my last Open Championship or US Open Championship, I don’t know what that is. It may or may not be.”

Tiger Woods last played at The Open Championship in 2022 but did not make the cut. Fans hope he will return to compete next week.

2024 Genesis Scottish Open filed excluding Tiger Woods

PGA and European Tour players will tee off at this week's Scottish Open. The field features some big names, including defending champion Rory McIlroy, PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele, and Viktor Hovland. On the other hand, Scottie Scheffler will miss this week's event.
