Justin Rose couldn't hide his excitement after making his debut in the Tiger Woods co-founded TGL alongside his Los Angeles Golf Club teammates Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala on January 14. Speaking at a post-match press conference, the 44-year-old reflected on the significance of the moment the 15-time major winner made his grand entrance.
Rose, who went head-to-head with Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club, described the night as a "huge honor." He had a lot to say about TGL's second match of its inaugural season. But what stood out to him the most was the co-founder's dramatic walkout.
"Obviously, a huge honor to be out here playing my first one. It was awesome to play against Jupiter Links and obviously have Tiger Woods walk out to "Eye of the Tiger." That was a cool moment. You're sitting there as a competitor and you appreciate everything that Tiger has done and how this has all come about, and it was fun to play against him and his team in our first match," Justin Rose said via ASAP Sports.
Woods had a big introductory speech which was followed by a walk-out through a cloud of smoke. He made the grand entrance while Survior's iconic anthem Eye of the Tiger played to welcome the 82-time PGA Tour winner at the red-hued SoFi Center.
