The 2024 Paris women's golf Olympic gold medalist Lydia Ko has a hectic schedule as she competes in the Women's Open next week after the Women's Scottish Open. The New Zealand golfer will be on the road for three consecutive weeks and will likely not have much time to recover.

After winning the gold medal last week at the Paris Olympics, she flew to Scotland this week to compete in the Scottish Open and will travel to St. Andrews for the Women's Open Championship next week.

She had the option to skip the Scottish Open and play the AIG Women's Open directly like Nelly Korda. But Ko believes it is great to play your way into the major, and having these three events in Europe has made it easier for travel. Talking about the schedule, she said (via ASAP Sports):

"Yeah, I think it's nice to kind of play your way into a major championship. Having the three tournaments in Europe, obviously, travel-wise is so much easier than being in Tokyo or something and coming over here. So I was always intending to play the three," Ko said.

She further expressed that she could be tired by some point next week owing to the hectic run of tournaments, but keeping her energy levels high is a part of her job.

"It is a long week, so it can get draining. So I'm sure by some point next week, I'm going to be tired but I think that's part of my job to keep my energy levels high and make sure that I'm still feeling," Ko revealed.

Lydia Ko came into the 2024 Women's Scottish Open as one of the favorites and has lived up to that tag. Even though she won't emerge as the victor, Ko is looking to make a top-10 finish before heading to St. Andrews for the AIG Women's Open.

The 27-year-old golfer was in contention on the final day as she was -7 for the event and was five strokes behind the lead. Unfortunately, she carded three consecutive bogeys on the 6th, 7th, and 8th holes in round four, ending her chances of winning.

Despite that, at the time of writing, Lydia Ko is T7 with a score of -6 for the event and has three final holes remaining. She will aim to finish in the top 10 and have confidence going into the year's final major championship.

Lauren Coughlin leads the 2024 ISPS Honda Women's Scottish Open at -13, while the 2024 Paris Olympics silver medalist Esther Henseleit is just two strokes behind the lead at -11.
