Phil Mickelson is one of the biggest names in the sport of golf. Many young golfers look up to the veteran with 57 professional wins to his name. One of the 6-time Major championship winner's most iconic victories came at the 2005 PGA Championship.

In this tournament, Mickelson fought through tough competition and weather delays to finally become champion on a Monday. Later, when the American golfer spoke about the tournament, he labeled it as one of the most stressful tournaments he ever played.

Phil Mickelson said:

"It was hard fought. I think it was one of the most stressful tournaments for me because I was on the lead or at the lead or tied every night. There was an extra night thrown in there for good measure. I'm looking forward to be able to relax for a day or two."

The 2005 PGA Championship was Phil Mickelson's second Major championship win at the time as he had won the 2004 Masters Tournament previously. After his first PGA Championship win, Mickelson went on to win four more Majors including a PGA Championship for the second time in 2021.

However, one of the biggest moments in his career came when he parted ways with the PGA Tour to play for LIV Golf. Since 2022, Phil Mickelson has been a part of the Saudi-backed tour and has even competed in Major championships.
