"It's very different from Sweden" – LPGA’s Linn Grant reflects on her maiden trip to Japan

LPGA golfer Linn Grant, currently competing at the 2024 TOTO Japan Classic, reflected on her maiden trip to Japan. The tournament is being held at Seta Golf Course in Otsu, Japan from October 31 to November 3.

Grant visited Japan for the first time in 2022 during the TOTO Japan Classic. She finished third in the tournament. In the post-round press conference, the Swedish player was asked about her thoughts on Japan and what she liked about the country.

"I like it. It's very different from Sweden. I like it. It's fun to try different new things like different foods. People here are nice and respectful and polite, which just gives a nice environment to be in," Linn Grant said.

Grant had a strong start at the tournament. She carded a bogey-free 6-under 66 in the first round. She scored six birdies on the 6th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 16th and 17th holes. She discussed her first round in the press conference.

"Very good. I mean, I just had a very nice day out there. I had a pretty set plan on how I wanted to play today, and I just followed that, which made it very simple in my head," Linn Grant said.

"I didn't stress over anything really. Very luckily I hit 18 greens which makes golf a lot easier. Overall very happy and hope that I can continue with this for the rest of the week," Linn Grant added.

Grant scored even par 72 in the second round. She is currently tied for 21st with Nataliya Guseya and others. The winner of the tournament will earn $300,000 from a total purse of $2 million.
